Elon Musk’s tweets caused Dogecoin to grow 30%

Tesla and SpaceX CEO expressed sympathy for Dogecoin on Twitter and entered into a discussion about Bitcoin with MicroStrategy CEO Michael Sailor.

On the morning of December 20 Elon Musk (Elon Musk) wrote in his Twitter account: “One word: Doge». DOGE immediately jumped 20% to $ 0.0047, the highest level since early July. Since then, DOGE has continued to rally to reach $ 0.0053, according to CoinMarketCap.

Musk wrote on Twitter about Bitcoin, but in a different way. He believes that “bitcoin is almost the same nonsense as fiat money.” MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor responded to one post:

“If you want to provide your shareholders with a $ 100 billion service, convert your TSLA balance from US dollars to BTC. Other companies in the S&P 500 will follow your example, and over time, the capitalization of bitcoin will grow to $ 1 trillion. “

Musk soon replied, “Are such large transactions possible?” To which Sailor wrote: “Yes, in recent months I have bought more than $ 1.3 billion of BTC and would be happy to share with you my plans of action offline – from one developer of new tools to another.”

Musk previously wrote about DOGE and in 2019 called it “his favorite cryptocurrency”. In addition, he briefly added the caption “former CEO of Dogecoin” to his Twitter profile.

The “comic” cryptocurrency Dogecoin, popular in past years, unexpectedly reminded of itself in July. The reason for its short but explosive growth was a video calling for the purchase of DOGE on the TikTok app.
