The French branch of online food ordering service Just Eat has begun accepting BTC payments for deliveries from 15,000 restaurants across the country, supported by cryptocurrency payment provider Bitpay.
“We do not charge commission for payments in BTC. To make a payment, you need to create a digital wallet by downloading special software or an application, ” says the Just Eat France website.
Payments using BTC will be calculated based on the current price of the cryptocurrency accepted by Bitpay. However, if the Bitcoin payment is canceled, the customer will be refunded in euros to the bank account.
“When you make your initial payment, BTC is already converted into euros. Thus, the rate applied at the time of payment will be applied for the refund, ”writes Just Eat France.
Bitcoin is increasingly being accepted to pay for various goods and services. For example , in May, Canadian e-commerce platform Shopify began partnering with CoinPayments, which allowed businesses using the platform to accept payments in cryptocurrencies.
Recall also that, according to a survey published at the beginning of the year by the Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), about a third of American small and medium-sized businesses accept cryptocurrencies as payment.
